Granny saves the day! Alice Dierkson

I had the pleasure of traveling to Belleplaine, KS, last week and sit down to interview Alice Dierkson. Alice is one tough Grandma who literally chased down a burglar in her home town! She saw someone snooping around an abandoned house, chased him down with her car until police arrived, and he was caught! In this photo she is recieving the hometown hero award for outstanding citizenship from the local police department, which was a surprise to Alice! Thanks to Alice for keeping our country safer and also for those yummy cinnamon roles she had when we arrived for the interview. : ) Just another wonderful story I get to be a part of...our country is full of incredible citizens just like Alice.

My visit with Meghan McCain

I just sat down with Meghan McCain, daughter of Senator John McCain.  She is  on a whirlwind media tour, mainly speaking about her blog - McCain Blogette - that has been generating a lot of buzz lately, and she also writes for Tina Brown's website "The Daily Beast."  I try and give you a "behind the scenes" look. . . so let me share some things you won't see on TV.

She arrived on time and was very kind to everyone in the studio, and super friendly. She even complimented me on my wedding ring and asked thoughtful questions. We chatted about life after the election, her love of fashion, her dating life (which she says has been HARD since the election!), taking on Ann Coulter, and all things pop culture. If they were to shoot a movie about her family, she thinks Robert Duvall would play a good John McCain, and maybe Sharon Stone as her mother, Cindy McCain. She majored in Art History at Columbia and loves to visit the museums in NYC. Colin Ferrell is her celebrity crush! She likes country music and John Rich. She loves bad boys and tattoos, and even showed me her foot tattoo, which is a star, and said yes, her Dad approves! : ) She even told the story of when Henry Kissinger noticed it once and chuckled! I found her to be witty, smart and really funny! She believes in looking forward in life, not backward. And when I asked if running for public office is in her future? she said NEVER! : )

All in a day's work! Stay Blessed,

Megan Alexander
